What's a Smart Container?

Think of your backpack, purse, suitcase or tote as a container. Containers are an easy way to organize your things, so you can keep track of the groups of things you need for different activities: the gym, trips, your children's sports practices.

Put a Smart Tag on the bag (or whatever container you use), and then Taglets on the things that go inside them. Tags keep track of the Taglets, checking in with them regularly to see if they’re with your Container or not. Smart Containers are set up by you in the Adero app, using your Smart Tag and Taglets. This makes it easy for you to quickly know if all your things are together or not.

You can create Reminders that notify you at the designated time if all the Taglets are with your Container — if they're not, a push notification on your phone will tell you what's missing.

You can also simply press on the Smart Tag at any time to see at a glance if your Container is ready. A green light means all systems are go. A red light means something is missing.

How do Reminders let me know I'm missing an item?

When your Smart Container has everything with it, Adero lets you know so you can confidently grab it and go.

Reminders proactively notify you before you forget to take something important with you for a particular event – whether it’s work, yoga class, or a weekend getaway. You set them up in the app to remind you at a particular date and time. You can also set up recurring Reminders.

If something is missing, push notification will tell you what it is. If more than one item is missing, just check the app to see what you need to grab before you head out the door.

For example, your daily Reminder about your work bag might tell you at 5:00pm: “It’s time to get your Work Bag. Your Laptop Charger and Work Bag are not together.”

Or you could set a Reminder about your suitcase when you have to take an early morning flight. As you sleepily brush your teeth in the dark, your phone would reassure you: “It’s time to get your Suitcase. Everything’s together and ready to go.”

What's the difference between a Smart Tag and a Taglet?

Think of Smart Tags as Mary Poppins and Taglets as the kids she's managing: they're in a relationship with each other, but there's only one boss. Your Smart Tag is the boss!

Smart Tags go on or in your container of choice (backpack, suitcase, diaper bag, tote), and the smaller Taglets go onto or in the items you need to have in the container. Smart Tags are designed to pair with up to 3 Taglets, so you can turn any bag into a Smart Container for your things.

Key differences between Smart Tag and Taglet:

Smart Tag has colored LED lights that can show you at a glance whether anything is missing from your Container.
Smart Tag has a loud ringer that can help you find it if it's misplaced.
Smart Tag is rechargeable, the Taglet is not rechargeable (but lasts for about two years).
Taglet is smaller than Smart Tag.
Both contain a Bluetooth system-on-a-chip but the Taglet chip is smaller and has fewer capabilities.

How do I attach Smart Tag and Taglet to my items?

Your Smart Tags come with three accessories that you can use to attach Smart Tag to bags or other types of containers: Keyring, Lanyard, and Adhesive Case.

When you open the box, you’ll see that the Smart Tag comes nestled inside a rubber Keyring. You can use the hole in the Keyring to attach it to anything that already has a clip, or weave the Lanyard through the hole and use that to loop it onto a bag strap or zipper pull. To use the Adhesive Case, simply slide the Smart Tag out of the rubber Keyring and pop it into the Adhesive Case with the logo side up. Then you can peel off the plastic backing and stick it onto any hard, smooth surface.

Each Taglet has an adhesive surface on the back. To stick Taglets onto the essentials that go inside your Smart Container, just peel the clear plastic backing off and press the Taglet onto any hard, smooth surface.

Smart Tags and Taglets don't need to be visible to each other to communicate. You can put the Taglet inside an item such as a wallet, laptop sleeve or passport cover, but be sure to pair with its Smart Tag first, and then attach the Taglet inside your item of choice.

Can I take Smart Tags and Taglets on a plane?

Yes! You can travel with Smart Tags and Taglets in your carry-on or checked luggage.
